Keeping piglets in the sty to which they've become accustomed

Fast responding LPG radiant heaters are particularly suitable for weaning accommodation where smaller pigs can get the comforting warmth they prefer. Tiered cage and flat deck early weaning systems demand constant temperatures of around 27 degrees Celsius which electricity may be unable to supply, regardless of cost. In contrast Shell Gas is economical and easily adjustable – the temperature can be taken down to 20 degrees Celsius in 3 to 5 weeks as the piglets gain weight.

With Shell Gas power cuts and voltage reductions are a thing of the past. Quite apart from ensuring the piglets’ survival, the constant maintenance of correct ambient temperature ensures rapid and costant feed conversion – at a fraction of the cost of electricity.

Shell Gas has many other uses around the farm too. Providing background heating for dry sow and fattening houses or powdering mobile pig rearing units.
