LPG and Taxis

In Japan at least 90% of all taxis run on LPG and Nissan and Toyota turn out factory-made LPG vehicles, 45,000 of them each year to replace existing taxis.

In France, there are tax exemptions for LPG taxis and buses and since 1998 the abilty to recover 100% of the VAT paid on LPG. LPG taxis are also allowed on the road every day of the year as they are exempt from the rules which restrict drivers of other vehicles to alternate day use at times of peak pollution.
